Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license Certifications: BLS Basic Life Support ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Course Must-Have: Strong communication, prioritization, and critical thinking skills Description: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced, 29-bed Emergency Department. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care for individuals presenting with a wide range of emergent and non-emergent medical conditions. The RN collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, timely, and compassionate care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive patient assessments and triage according to department protocols. Initiate and manage emergency nursing interventions for critically ill and injured patients. Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous therapies safely and accurately. Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status. Assist with emergency procedures, trauma resuscitations, and cardiac emergencies. Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment in high-acuity situations. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care. Collaborate effectively with physicians, EMS personnel, respiratory therapy, laboratory, radiology, and ancillary staff. Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection prevention guidelines. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental education activities. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Minimum of 5 years emergency nursing experience preferred. Previous experience in a high-volume Emergency Department preferred.
