Description:
Unit requires weekend coverage every other weekend.
No on-call duties are anticipated.
Floating may be required within the facility and scope of practice as needed.
Holiday work is expected if major holidays fall within the assignment period.
If one major holiday occurs, the traveler is expected to work it.
For two major holidays, the traveler is expected to work both.
If three major holidays occur during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them.
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.
Full compliance is required to start on time.
Non-compliance may result in a delay of two weeks due to orientation scheduling.
Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
Minimum patient ratios for the night shift are four patients per nurse.
Interdisciplinary support is available within the unit.
Experience in managing ventilated patients, administering IV vasopressors, and triage is important.
Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure is expected.
Clinical skills required include interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.
The unit primarily serves adult and geriatric patient populations.
Compliance with onboarding and core items is mandatory.
