Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 15:00-03:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in the specialty License: Registered Nurse license in Alabama or a compact license (no temp licenses accepted) Certifications: Required AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS, NIH or Red Cross Must-Have: TNCC certification Description: This position requires a commitment to work holidays as required. Staff must be available for every other weekend. Willingness to float to other units and hospitals is required. Candidates can choose between 36 or 48 hours per week. The Emergency Department offers comprehensive emergency medical services to all age groups. It is staffed 24/7 by a highly trained team to meet the needs of the community. The emergency team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff. The department treats more than 60,000 patients annually. The nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 with critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for all other patients. An associate degree in nursing is required. Candidates should have two years of experience; however, 18 months of experience may be considered if it is at the highest level of professional license. Recent experience in the field of specialty is mandatory. This position is patient-facing and clinical in nature. Familiarity with Meditech EMR is preferred. Scrub colors are to be solid navy.
