Description: The RN Clinical Nurse Emergency Department is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. The RN practices in a clinical environment supported by nurse managers and other leaders. This role incorporates the Wellstar Shared Governance Model and the Professional Practice Model along with evidence-based practice and research. All RN Clinical Nurses Emergency Services are expected to be licensed and knowledgeable, upholding the practice of nursing. The individual will implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, the RN will uphold the voice of the patient while supporting service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Performs the Nursing Process, including assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Utilizes evidence-based practice and analytical/critical thinking to ensure care is individualized. Coordinates care through effective partnerships, recognizing that caring is central to achieving optimal patient care outcomes. Provides relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics. Partners with the patient and significant others, ensuring ongoing communication and updates throughout the plan of care. Practices using current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration: Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, promoting a professional care delivery model. Demonstrates teamwork by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner that promotes retention of all healthcare team members. Participates in performance improvement initiatives, supporting inclusive stakeholder involvement and research. Professional Development and Initiative: Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education. Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses and staff to ensure a qualified workforce. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research, participating in decision-making processes related to patient care products. Upholds organizational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Participates in data collection and collaborates with experts to address practice questions.
