Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred, will consider less License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS in hand at time of submission Must-Have: Previous travel experience preferred Description: ER Nights position available. Two years of experience preferred, but less will be considered. The candidate must work every other weekend. Experience with EPIC documentation is required. Skills needed include management of abdominal pain, acute psychosis, and drug overdose. Candidates should be familiar with arterial line management and blood product administration. Experience with care of ventilated patients is necessary. Must be able to perform chest tube insertion and management. Knowledge of emergency medications and ICP monitoring is required. Experience with interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias is needed. The candidate should be skilled in intubation and isolation precautions. Experience with managing violent behavior and mental health conditions is crucial. Candidates must demonstrate competency in handling pediatric emergencies and obtaining 12 lead EKGs. The role requires phlebotomy skills and continuous IV sedation management. Understanding of stroke and trauma care is essential. The emergency department handles a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census averages 135 visits with 38 beds available. Travelers should expect to float to like units as needed. Basic orientation will be provided to familiarize travelers with the unit's protocols.
