The team ensures that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through a Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is guided by a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core values. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing. They must implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards. As a member of the patient services team, it is crucial to uphold the voice of the patient and system policies. The individual should support service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions include: Performing the Nursing Process in the performance of clinical care. Providing relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics. Always partnering with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose. Practicing using current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and collaboration involves: Coordinating safe quality patient care and documentation in a respectful and inclusive clinical environment. Demonstrating teamwork and practicing in a fiscally responsible manner. Participating in performance improvement and supporting shared governance at all levels. Professional development includes: Completing all professional competency assessments and ongoing education. Serving as a preceptor or mentor to ensure a qualified workforce. Evidence-based practice involves: Promoting nursing research and performance improvement. Participating in data collection and addressing clinical practice questions with appropriate resources. In terms of resources and support: Proactively planning for patient care across the continuum. Participating in the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers.
