Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 12 months Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours (0700-1900) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience License: Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred Must-Have: General Emergency Department skillset including but not limited to cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, peripheral IV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. The facility includes 337 licensed beds with no trauma designation. It serves a general Emergency Department population with a daily average census of 145 patients. Patient types vary and include trauma stabilization, respiratory illness, stroke, behavioral health issues, acute myocardial infarction, uncontrollable diabetes, and minor trauma. The age range served spans from pediatric to geriatric patients. The admission rate is approximately 25-30%. Patient ratios are 1:3-4 for RNs based on acuity. Certified Nursing Assistants will assist with patient care and serve as unit coordinators. Support within the department includes unit secretaries, paramedics, charge nurses, patient safety attendants, and dedicated pharmacists. Emergency Department physicians and advanced practice providers are available 24/7. Float requirements may apply to other facilities within the region as needed.
