Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required; first-time travelers accepted License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics. General emergency department experience is required. Ability to float within the facility and to the main campus as needed. Description: The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting. The role requires managing a patient ratio of 1:4. Candidates will utilize Epic and Pyxis systems. Scrub color is navy blue. Floating to other areas within the facility may be required, within the scope of practice. If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work. Should two major holidays occur, the traveler is required to work both. If three major holidays fall in the assignment period, the candidate is expected to work two. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. Full compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant by the deadline, the start date may be pushed back. The position supports a combined adult and pediatric patient base. Candidates should possess skills in emergency care, including arterial line management, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients. Knowledge of procedural sedation administration and monitoring is also important. Experience with IV management and dysrhythmia interpretation is required. The role involves working within a fast-paced environment, responding to a variety of patient needs.
