Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12:00 - 00:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (TNCC preferred) Must-Have: Strong triage and critical thinking skills Trauma and cardiac alert experience, including care of STEMI, stroke, and sepsis patients Description: Emergency Department features 22 beds and a staff of 55. A mix of day and night shifts with charges and various RN staffing. Patient ratios are 4:1. Electronic medical record system is Meditech. Common procedures include IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, and wound care. Moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions or cardioversion is performed. Assistance with intubation, CPR, rapid sequence intubation, and code response is provided. Care for stroke, STEMI, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health patients is essential. Transport preparation and coordination for higher levels of care is necessary. Triage assessment and prioritization based on ESI guidelines are required. Isolation and infection control protocols must be adhered to. Documentation and reassessment in fast-paced environments are crucial. Ideal candidates are team-oriented with a strong work ethic and accountability. Punctuality, reliability, and compassion in providing excellent patient-centered care are necessary. Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced environment are important.
