Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Rockford, Illinois. This role is based in a dynamic Emergency Department setting, where you will provide critical care to a diverse patient population presenting with various acute illnesses and injuries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team. This position requires a commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and continuous professional development within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care, collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in strict accordance with approved nursing techniques, facility policies, procedures, standards of care, and state practice acts.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in compliance with established standards of care.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, develop individualized plans of care, implement interventions, and continuously evaluate patient outcomes.
- Initiate and execute patient care plans based on individual needs, physician orders, and clinic policies, including comprehensive patient and family education.
- Actively participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance initiatives.
- Apply clinical expertise to support other units/departments in the patient's longitudinal plan of care as needed.
- Exercise critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, escalating concerns appropriately through the chain of command.
- Engage in professional nursing continuum processes, unit practice activities, decision-making, and peer review processes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Prior experience as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse.
- Education verification required.

Licensing Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) OR Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) certification.
