Job Title: EP RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Electrophysiology Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience with critically ill patients - Experience with peripheral and coronary circulation - Familiarity with Merge Hemo system is a bonus Description: Perform pre-procedure assessments, including vital signs, allergies, labs, and history. Educate patients and obtain informed consent. Administer moderate sedation and monitor patient response during procedures. Maintain sterile field and assist with catheter insertion. Monitor cardiac rhythm, hemodynamics, and patient status throughout the procedure. Provide post-procedure care, monitoring for complications and assessing access sites. Reinforce post-operative instructions and coordinate discharge planning. Document assessments, medications, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record. Respond to code situations, including ACLS during cardiac arrest or rapid decompensation. Coordinate with cardiologists, techs, anesthesia, and support staff for optimal patient care. Charge nurse during the day and collaborate with the circulating nurse after hours. Participate in a call rotation, including one night of call per week and every other weekend. Maintain a response time of 30 minutes or less for call situations. Hospital provided scrubs will be worn during shifts. Cancellation policy allows for up to four shift cancellations during the assignment. Charting is completed using the electronic medical record system.
