Description: The Nurse Educator will develop and implement education and professional development services and programs for employees. This role involves the development, organization, promotion, implementation, evaluation, and revision of nursing professional development activities. These activities include orientation, precepting, transition to practice programs, simulations, competency validation, computer-based learning, and continuing education courses throughout the organization. The Nurse Educator serves as a nurse planner for continuing nursing education units according to established criteria. This position promotes and supports evidence-based practice and serves as a program administrator of nursing procedures. The role requires regular and sustained attendance, with the possibility of working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs. Motion-related tasks include lifting, sitting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, bending, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, and fine finger movements. Cognitive skills such as learning new tasks, remembering processes, maintaining focus, completing tasks independently, and making timely decisions are essential. There may be exposures to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, medications, and emotionally challenging situations.
