Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel contract in Oregon, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications with at least 2 years of experience.

Details

  • Work setting is a hospital Emergency Department
  • Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required, as the ED operates 24/7
  • Travelers may be floated to other departments where qualified before core staff is floated
  • Patient population ranges from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies across all acuity levels

Requirements

  • Active Oregon RN license required
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects up to 25 lbs
  • Must be capable of continuous walking and standing throughout 12-hour shifts

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include patient triage, assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, splinting, and emergency response (code blue, rapid response)
  • Accurately documents patient information, treatment plans, and care responses in the EHR
  • Provides patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up care
  • Directs and supervises assigned personnel as part of the care team
  • If the assignment extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
  • Work environment involves frequent exposure to infection, contagious disease, hazardous materials, and occasionally combative patients
  • BSN is preferred but not required
