Emergency Department (ED) Unit Overview
Start Requirements
- Immediate need – RN must be able to start ASAP.
- Complete 4 hours of billable computer modules:
- Modules are sent Monday–Tuesday of the week before the start date.
- Must be completed by 7:00 AM on the Friday before the start date.
- Add the 4 billable hours to the first week's timesheet.
Required Certifications
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- AHA PALS
- TNS or TNCC
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience.
Unit Details
- 30-bed Emergency Department
- 27 medical ED beds
- 3 ED psychiatric beds
- Average daily census: Approximately 120 patients/day (range 100–140).
- Staffing: Based on average daily census (ADC) with various shift lengths.
- Assignment model:POD nursing.

- Level II Trauma Center
- Level II Stroke Center
- Chest Pain Accredited
- Full-service treatment center for Sexual Assault Survivors (SANE-capable services)
