Opportunity:

RN - Emergency Department

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Work in a 25-procedure room emergency department with 8 hallway beds and 4 annex beds in a secure psychiatric holding area
• Patient ratio of 4:1 with flexibility during acute surge
• Every other weekend requirement for contract labor
• No floating to other units
• Work with equipment including ultrasound IV skills, Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis
• Document using Sunrise/Allscripts EMR system
• Treat diverse patient population including complex cardiac conditions, DKA, sepsis, trauma, and stroke patients
• Perform procedures including trauma care, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma, ultrasound IV insertion, IO insertion, eye exams, EKGs, and psychiatric and cardiopulmonary care
• Follow RN protocol-driven workflows including ordering labs, EKGs, X-rays, and medications based on chief complaint
• Scrubs required; no hooded shirts or sweatshirts permitted
• Strong assessment, communication, critical thinking, and EKG interpretation skills preferred
• Active nursing license required at time of submission

This facility features a fully equipped emergency department with 25 procedure rooms, 8 hallway beds in continuous use, and a secure psychiatric annex area. The department supports a high-acuity patient population with specialized services including a New England Heart Institute program, trauma care, and stroke care. The unit operates with a robust multidisciplinary team across multiple shifts and utilizes protocol-based RN workflows to streamline patient care delivery.
