Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work night shifts in a 12-bed emergency department unit, utilizing hallway beds as needed
• Night shift staffing structure: 5 RNs and 1 paramedic until 2300, dropping to 4 RNs and 1 paramedic at 0100, then 3 RNs and 1 paramedic from 0100 to 0700
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics, with majority of patients being adults
• Patient ratios are acuity-based at 1:5, with up to 1:6 on rare occasions
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS, and de-escalation training (MOAB or CPI)
• Required skills include general ED skillset, chest tubes, drips, IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Perform phlebotomy at the bedside as ED RNs are responsible for this function
• Charting and equipment includes Epic, GE monitors, Alaris, and Pyxis
• CNA support available at a 1:12 ratio
• Respiratory therapy and hospitalist services available in-house 24/7
• Bedside and nursing station telemetry available with no tele tech on staff
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday expectations vary based on unit need
• No floating required
• One orientation shift on the unit to learn workflow
• Scrub color: Any
• Free on-site parking provided

Facility:

This facility is a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 69 total beds and a 12-bed emergency department including triage. The facility provides comprehensive emergency services supported by in-house respiratory therapy and hospitalist coverage available 24/7. A lead RN functions as a resource for the team, and the facility maintains modern equipment and charting systems to support high-quality patient care across a wide range of acuity levels.
