Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities include performing focused assessments, developing care plans, administering medications, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform focused assessments of patient status.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor patient response to treatments.
  • Provide patient and family education.
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed documentation.

Requirements:

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certification.
  • 3-5 years experience in a level 3 trauma or higher facility.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records.
  • Proficiency in RSI, conscious sedations, and general ER skills.
