Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Dialysis Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience with hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments - Ability to cannulate AV fistula and AV graft - Experience with telemetry monitoring - Charting experience with Epic Description: Registered Nurses provide care for patients with end-stage renal disease, acute kidney injury, and related conditions. Nurses work with patients who have various medical-surgical or critical care diagnoses. The department provides 24/7 services for hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments. The average length of stay for treatments is 4-5 hours. In some cases, treatments are performed in the patient’s room for hemodynamically unstable patients. Nurses will float between campuses as needed and may be required to take call on designated nights. Compliance with a Pass/Fail EKG exam is mandatory regardless of specialty. Candidates should be prepared for a full compliance file by the deadline prior to the start date. All Nursing staff are supported by certified hemodialysis technicians and nursing secretaries. The unit has a cardiac monitoring system and provides comprehensive patient care. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is crucial for optimal patient outcomes. Apheresis patient population may include those with neurologic, renal, or hematologic/oncologic diseases. The healthcare environment emphasizes infection control and patient safety. All required equipment for dialysis and monitoring is available and utilized effectively. Nurses need to be flexible with scheduling and adhere to policies regarding attendance.
