Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Float Nurse in New Mexico. This position involves providing patient care in a 12-bed ICU setting, with floating responsibilities to Emergency Room and Medical Surgical departments. The role requires adaptability to different clinical environments and a focus on patient safety and support during the assigned shifts.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights shift, from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, with minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse, minimum of 2 years ICU experience, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), ER and Medical Surgical experience required, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred, experience with vents, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene preferred, and fingerprinting clearance as per state regulations.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Additional ICU certifications such as TNCC.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, with a maintained float log and override provisions based on exceptional experience, especially in ER.
  • Additional Information: The nurse will provide ICU patient total care including vent management, titratable drips, and hygiene care. No call required. EMR system used is MedHost. Scrub color is flexible. Floating to ER involves assisting with call lights, medication pass, patient transport, IV starts, and blood draws, while floating to Medical Surgical may require taking a full patient assignment or acting as an aide.
