Registered Nurse (RN – General, Dialysis, Mental Health)

Location: Dayton, OH 45417
Duration: Minimum 6 months from projected start date
Hours: 36–40 hours per week

Schedule Requirements

  • Must be available for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
  • Rotating weekends required
  • Must work at least one weekend day per week
  • Schedule and shift assignments will be determined at the start of the assignment
  • Flexibility is required as days and hours may change based on facility needs

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care within a state-operated facility. Responsibilities include delivering direct patient care, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient conditions, and responding to medical emergencies.

This is an all-female facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients/inmates in a medical or institutional setting
  • Observe, assess, and document patient symptoms, reactions, and progress
  • Conduct nursing rounds and record vital signs
  • Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and immunizations
  • Monitor patients in restricted or isolated settings and provide emergency medical care when needed
  • Develop and implement patient care plans
  • Organize and oversee emergency response (Code Blue)
  • Supervise and direct assigned healthcare staff as needed
  • Assist physicians with diagnostic evaluations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of medications, treatments, incidents, and reports
  • Monitor and control inventory of medications, including controlled substances
  • Order medical supplies and equipment
  • Coordinate outpatient appointments and prescription services
  • Participate in staff development and training
  • Serve on committees or problem-solving teams as assigned
