The role involves providing nursing care for geriatric residents while maintaining a safe and hygienic environment. You will oversee and train staff in resident care and assess residents' physical and behavioral conditions. In the capacity of charge nurse, you will supervise the functions of all licensed staff and Certified Nursing Assistants. You will learn, implement, and monitor management systems and methodologies for continual improvement. You will administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by physicians within the scope of your license. You will be responsible for communicating residents' medical, social, and functional needs to the interdisciplinary team. Perform initial admission nursing assessments for newly admitted residents. Assist in the development of the Minimum Data Set assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews, and care plans. Maintain proper clinical and administrative documentation regarding diagnoses, assessments, treatment, and client progress. Lead and provide limited supervision of subordinate staff and assist with resident care completion of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Conduct and participate in training and staff development programs. Utilize management concepts and tools for problem solving and process improvements. Apply and interpret laws and regulations governing nursing practices. Develop and execute patient care plans within a team nursing concept. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. Build and maintain interpersonal relationships. Learn and implement management methods for continuous improvement and efficiency.
