Job Title: Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU), RN Unit Manager Profession: Nursing Specialty: Perioperative, Pre-Op Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Discuss with manager; days Hours per Shift: 32 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Must be licensed in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred. Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred. Must-Have: Must have completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN approved institution. BSN, Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN), or Master's degree in a health care or Business Administration related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room. At least 2 years of surgical services management experience at a surgery center or similar facility. Description: Responsible for planning, coordinating, organizing, and directing the operations and staff of the Surgical Services Department. Evaluates the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients in the assigned department. Coordinates the scheduling of visiting specialists to maintain a workable schedule in the OR. Responsible for fiscal, material, and human resource management of the department as well as other administrative duties. Participates in the development and implementation of departmental and organizational policies and procedures. Maintains interdepartmental and intradepartmental communication. Articulates and enforces standards for quality and safe patient care. Develops and implements systems and processes that improve staff and patient quality and safety.
