This position works in a supportive manner as a Charge Nurse, quality management coordinator, and resource for the unit. The Charge Nurse coordinates and directs total nursing care for an assigned group of residents/patients during a given period of duty. Assumes full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident/patient care. Participates in patient/resident and family teaching and provides leadership. Works cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other resident/patient team members according to established facility/unit and department policies, procedures, and standards. The RN is directly responsible to the Director of Nursing or designee. The RN maintains resident/patient privacy and confidentiality.
