Job Title: Case Manager Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1 year of oncology experience required. License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS required, Chemo (ONS/ONCC) preferred Must-Have: 1 year of experience in oncology. Experience with patient diagnoses including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and stem cell transplants. Description: Case Manager for a clinic setting. Work with the authorization department and assist with new patient referrals. Collaborate with multiple departments to schedule appointments. Respond to patient messages and inquiries. Experience with EPIC pools is necessary. 1 year of oncology experience is required. Preference will be given to those with bone marrow transplant experience. Responsibilities include care coordination and patient/family education and support. Candidates should have skills in medication tolerance assessment and recognizing/managing side effects. Knowledge of graft-versus-host disease, sepsis, and isolation precautions is important. Must be able to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values. Candidates should have experience with administering bone marrow therapy and managing complications such as hemorrhage and nausea/vomiting. Preferred experience includes telephone triage and total body irradiation. The role requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
