12-Hour Night Shifts

We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery for a 13-week travel assignment at a respected acute care hospital in Glendale, California. This opportunity is ideal for nurses with strong Labor & Delivery experience who are confident managing high-acuity obstetric patients and providing exceptional care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period.

Position Details
  • Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery
  • Location: Glendale, CA
  • Setting: Acute Care Hospital
  • Shift: Nights (12-Hour Shifts)
  • Schedule: 36 Hours Guaranteed Per Week
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Start Date: July 13, 2026
  • Weekend Requirement: 4 Weekend Shifts Every 4 Weeks
  • On-Call Requirement: None
  • Floating: First to Float
  • EMR System: Cerner
  • Fetal Monitoring System: OBIX
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, postpartum, and antepartum patients.
  • Perform ongoing maternal and fetal assessments throughout labor and delivery.
  • Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate tracings and respond appropriately to changes in patient status.
  • Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
  • Circulate, scrub, and recover patients during C-section procedures.
  • Provide immediate newborn care and stabilization as needed.
  • Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and best clinical practices.

  • 10 Labor & Delivery Beds
  • 2 Operating Rooms within Labor & Delivery
  • 2 Triage Beds
  • 18 Postpartum Beds
  • Approximately 130 Deliveries Per Month
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
    • 1:1 Close to Delivery
    • 1:2 Labor Patients
    • 1:4 Mother/Baby Couplets
  • Shared Charge Nurse Coverage Between Labor & Delivery and Postpartum
  • Respiratory Therapy Available 24/7
  • Pharmacy Available 24/7
