Proficiency in Epic charting system preferred. Experience with Appeals and Denials, Audits, Care Coordination, Concurrent Review, Discharge Planning, and Quality Improvement is essential. Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines is necessary. The role involves determining medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines and using InterQual criteria. Traveler must comply with all required certifications and skill sets. Position may require flexibility to meet facility needs. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census and patient ratios may vary. Submittal packets must include two updated references within the last year. Modules are non-billable and average one to two hours completed pre-start, varying by specialty.
