Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Utilization Review Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 2 years preferred License: State or Compact license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with charting systems required Description: The Case Manager is responsible for medical necessity review. The role includes discharge planning and utilization review. The Case Manager identifies and communicates changes in the patient's plan of care to the health care team. Maintains detailed knowledge of community resources and processes for referrals. Using Length of Stay (LOS) anticipates patient needs. The Case Manager ensures stewardship of resources and timely transitioning of patients to an alternative level of care. Documents in the patient record in a consistent and timely manner. Documentation includes initial screenings and discharge planning. This position requires candidates to be within a 100-mile radius. It is important to note that local candidates will not be considered.
