It has been recognized for providing the highest clinical quality year over year. The facility has earned a prestigious designation that distinguishes organizations that meet rigorous nursing excellence standards. It served as the region's referral center for various critical care services. The hospital provides the only open heart and interventional cardiology services in the region. The nursing unit consists of 4 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1. Staffing includes RNs, support from clinical nurse coordinators, secretarial staff, and management. The type of equipment used includes monitoring systems and ultrasound technology. Documentation is performed using electronic health record systems. Scheduling requires availability Monday through Friday. On-call requirements may involve staying late 1-2 times per week. Floating will occur within the scope of practice and experience. Critical care experience is essential, and pre-operative experience is a plus. Required skills include advanced documentation and communication capabilities. Advanced skills necessary for the role involve IV starts, hair removal, medication administration, and skin assessments. The nurse will assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placements, as well as patient transport to the operating room.
