Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days, 4x10 | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 36 Hours Weekly Guaranteed | Onsite | Rotational call nights, weekends, and holidays required
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for cardiothoracic surgical patients across all age groups
- Perform scrub and/or circulating duties during open heart and thoracic procedures in a fast-paced cardiovascular OR environment
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability for patient care, patient rights, and confidentiality of patient information
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate care in conjunction with other departments
- Perform duties consistent with established nursing practice guidelines, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and applicable mission and values standards
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license; must be eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience
- Demonstrated experience with open heart and thoracic procedures
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Demonstrated skill in human relations and communications; clinical expertise in area of responsibility required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with ECMO and/or Impella insertion
- Robotic surgical assistance experience
- Familiarity with Epic Optime EMR
