Key Responsibilities
- Circulate and scrub in cardiovascular, vascular, and general operating room cases within a high-volume, Level I trauma center environment
- Perform scrub and circulating roles across cardiac, vascular, thoracic, neuro, robotics, gynecology, urology, general, pediatric, and transplant service lines
- Maintain efficient case turnovers with an expectation of less than 20 minutes between cases across up to 14 active OR suites
- Participate in an structured CVOR orientation program progressing through general OR, vascular, and cardiac cases including shadow call and open heart scrubbing
- Take general department call during initial orientation period, then transition to cardiac call coverage including weekend call
- Float across multiple campuses as required to support staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 24 months of current and recent Operating Room experience with a focus on CVOR (approximately 80% cardiac cases, 20% general cases)
- Strong and proficient experience in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery; basic general surgery circulating experience required
- Scrub experience including open heart scrubbing required
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
- EPIC EMR experience within the previous 3 years required
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the previous 15 months (no first-time travelers)
- Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license required at time of submission
- Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Trauma Level I center experience
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
- Ability to both scrub and circulate across multiple service lines
