Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM) Plus call Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a cardiovascular setting preferred. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; CNOR preferred. Must-Have: Familiarity with open heart procedures; experience in a hybrid operating suite beneficial. Description: The position requires an RN to provide care in the cardiovascular operating room. The RN will scrub and circulate in all open heart and vascular procedures. Vascular procedures include both open and percutaneous approaches. The RN will assist anesthesia with induction and transport patients from the pre-op area to recovery. Candidates must pass an open book exam during orientation, achieving a minimum of 90% to pass. Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply will lead to termination of the contract. The RN will be required to fulfill some charge responsibilities after hours. The schedule is flexible, with a preference for candidates available for 5 eight-hour shifts but will consider 4 ten-hour shifts. Call responsibilities include weekends and may require additional shifts Monday through Thursday. There is a cancellation policy that allows for a limited number of shifts to be canceled during the 13-week assignment. Experience with EPIC charting system is beneficial.
