Job Title: RN - CVOR Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS and ACLS Must-Have: Minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital experience as CVOR RN Open Heart surgery experience Description: A travel position is available for an RN specializing in cardiovascular surgery. This role includes managing the operating room and assisting surgeons. You will monitor vital signs and provide pre- and post-operative care. The unit has 14 beds with a staff of approximately 70 FTEs. Typical procedures performed include AVR, MVR, CABG, Bentall, and Dissection. The team consists of a charge nurse, an RN, and a surgical tech per operating room during the day shift. Night shift includes a charge nurse, an RN, and a surgical tech. The patient ratios are 1:1, estimated but not guaranteed. Flexibility for day and evening hours is needed. Call shifts may include 1-2 evening shifts per week and weekend shifts every 6th weekend. Candidates with prior experience in trauma and Meditech will be prioritized. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a high level of accountability and expertise. Self-direction is essential for this role.
