Candidates must be able to perform vascular and robotic cases. Candidates must be willing to take call. Description: The operating room has 11 rooms and a staff of 30. Staff consists of 1 Charge RN, 10 RNs, 10 CSTs, 2 schedulers, 3 anesthesia techs, and 2 orderlies. Five RNs work 10-hour shifts, while five CSTs also work 10-hour shifts. There are no RNs working 12-hour shifts, but 2 CSTs do. The night shift includes 1 RN and 1 CST. Patient ratios are 1:1. The unit is equipped with various types of advanced surgical equipment. Typical procedures performed include CABG with or without valves, pericardial window, AAA and endovascular procedures, ECMO, convergent maze, and impella balloon pump, among others. Preferred candidates should have endovascular experience and moderate sedation experience. Candidates who can perform orthopedics, ENT, gynecology, and general surgeries are also desirable. The best personality fit would be a hard worker who is willing to help wherever needed and can get along with others. Required certifications include RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Having a CNOR certification is advantageous but not necessary. Floating may be required in the Surgery Department to cover varying case loads. Scrub color for RNs is navy blue. On-call duties will typically start at the end of a shift and last until 7 AM the following morning. Weekend calls are typically 24 hours and are assigned once a month. Typically, staff are on call for one day during the week and one weekend per month.
