    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to CVICU patients including post-operative cardiac surgery patients (CABG, MVR, AVR), STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, and structural heart procedures (TAVR, mitral clips, Inari)
    • Manage hemodynamically unstable patients during the first 6 hours post-op, including active management of cardiac output, extreme coagulopathy, and open chest situations
    • Operate and monitor advanced cardiac support devices including IABP, Impella, ECMO, and CRRT in coordination with on-site perfusionist and dialysis teams
    • Administer and titrate two or more inotropic medications simultaneously as required by patient acuity
    • Float to MSICU as needed and fulfill on-call requirements of 24–32 hours per rotating 8-week schedule
    • Work every third weekend and holidays as scheduled
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Maryland RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
    • Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience (first-time travelers with CVICU experience will be considered)
    • Current BLS certification (AHA only)
    • Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
    • Current CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification
    • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
    • Experience caring for patients on ECMO, CRRT, or IABP in a high-acuity cardiac surgical setting
