Key Responsibilities- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff within the CVICU
- Coordinate patient care with other disciplines utilizing critical thinking and independent judgment
- Provide post-operative open heart recovery care, including management of patients requiring intra-aortic balloon pump support
- Apply professional and supervisory discretion in high-acuity cardiovascular patient situations
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA or ARC
- Cardiovascular nursing experience with open heart recovery training
- Intra-aortic balloon pump experience
Preferred Experience / Skills- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior acute care facility experience
