    Registered Nurse – CVICU

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular ICU setting with a 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Manage a complex patient mix including fresh post-operative open heart patients, ventilated patients, and patients with chest tubes and lumbar drains
    • Care for patients with chronic and acute renal failure utilizing advanced monitoring and support devices
    • Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Impella, IABP, CRRT (Prismax), Swan catheters, Flotrack, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tubes
    • Support post-operative recovery for open heart procedures including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
    • Float as required to all ICUs, PACU, ED (ICU holding patients), and IMC units
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum of 2 years of current CVICU experience (SICU experience with CVICU training may be considered)
    • Active New Jersey RN license or valid Compact license required at time of submission
    • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of submission
    • Demonstrated experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax, or experience with fresh open heart cases
    • Proficiency with post-operative open heart recovery, Swan catheters, Flotrack, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tubes
    • Availability to work every other weekend and holidays as applicable; must be available for 2 of 3 designated holidays
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are accepted
    • Experience with a broad range of ICU patient populations and the ability to adapt to varying acuity levels when floating
    • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
