    Registered Nurse – CVICU (ECMO Specialist)

    Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-Hour Shifts) | Every Other Weekend Coverage Required | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide specialized ECMO device management for critically ill pediatric and adult patients in both CVICU and PICU settings, floating between units as needed
    • Manage ECMO devices during bedside ECMO cannulation and/or cannula repositioning procedures
    • Operate specialized equipment including Cardiohelp ECMO console, Centrimag ECMO console, Cardio Quip heater-cooler unit, and point-of-care glucometer
    • Follow ECMO order sets and provider team direction while collaborating closely with ICU RNs and Respiratory Therapists
    • Care for patients with diagnoses including post cardiac surgery, cardiogenic shock, traumatic injury, ARDS/respiratory failure, and other critical acute illnesses requiring ECMO support
    • Complete required pre-assignment modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
    • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
    • Minimum of one year of recent ECMO Specialist experience, including completion of an ECMO specialty device course and required CMEs to maintain proficiency
    • Experience working with both pediatric and adult patient populations in an ICU setting
    • Minimum one year of recent experience with EPIC EMR
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience in a critical care or CVICU/PICU environment
    • Demonstrated competency floating between adult and pediatric critical care units
    • Experience managing patients on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for cardiac, respiratory, sepsis, shock, or trauma-related conditions
