Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: CVICU experience required. Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required. Basic Arrhythmia experience required. Two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty is mandatory. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required. Must-Have: Traveler must pass Telemetry test prior to starting. Description: Evening and night shifts required. 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Every other weekend and some holidays are part of the schedule. No on-call requirements exist. Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable areas is preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. Ability to provide care for patients requiring specialized cardiac and thoracic surgeries and procedures. Knowledge and experience in managing a variety of critical care equipment and protocols are crucial. The nursing team consists of charge nurses and direct care nurses working collaboratively. Patient assignments typically range from 1-3 patients depending on unit acuity and staffing resources. Daily census is around 26 patients, with adequate interdisciplinary support available. Diverse patient diagnoses include heart and lung transplants and various cardiothoracic surgical procedures. Responsibilities include careful patient monitoring, administering medications, and assisting in emergency situations. Commitment to infection prevention and adherence to safety protocols are required. A telemetry exam will be required prior to starting with a passing score of 80% or higher. All candidates should be prepared for continuous learning and skill enhancement in a dynamic environment.
