Must-Have:
Ability to care for 1-3 ICU patients and manage patients on a ventilator.
Previous successful travel nursing assignment preferred in a facility using Meditech.
Proficient in reading telemetry strips.
Experience with CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and phlebotomy.
Description:
Traveler shall be scheduled in accordance with facility policy.
Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.
Unit consists of 28 beds with mixed ICU.
Patient ratios are 1:2 and 1:3, accommodating inpatient PCU/med surg admissions.
Documentation system utilizes Meditech.
Schedule requires 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend.
Travelers may float to the emergency department or PCU to assist with holds.
Bedside shift report is used for patient handoff on every transfer of care.
Advanced skills in managing post-op day 0 CABG, impellas, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, and advanced hemodynamics are required.
Experience with neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, bolts, and induced hypothermia is preferred.
BSN degree and advanced certifications are preferred.
Training is available for travelers interested in becoming skilled in neuro ICU or cardiovascular ICU nursing.
Opportunity to train in caring for patients with head and neck flap procedures is also available.
