Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVICU Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty required License: Valid state license preferred Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - PA catheter interpretation and analysis required - Open heart recovery direct from OR strongly preferred - LVAD/RVAD/Impella, IABP required - CRRT with Prismaflex and ECMO preferred Description: Position for a CVICU Registered Nurse. Shift is three 12-hour days, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2. Candidates with two years of experience in a relevant specialty are preferred. First-time travelers are not accepted. Weekend work required: will work every other weekend. No on-call requirement. Expectations include floating within the ICU community as needed. Candidates must not have any scheduling restrictions exceeding five days. The client may cancel up to three shifts without penalty. Special requirements include PA catheter interpretation and analysis. Experience with open heart recovery is highly preferred. Candidates should possess skills in managing LVAD, RVAD, and Impella devices. Experience in CRRT with Prismaflex and ECMO is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should be proficient in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring, including PA catheters. Daily census for the unit is approximately 24 patients, with 32 total beds available. The unit supports various interdisciplinary teams, including IV, respiratory, and pharmacy services. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. Candidates must demonstrate skills in managing ventilated patients and central venous pressure monitoring. Willingness to assist with bedside tracheostomies and PEGs is required.
