Supervision and direction of activities of nursing staff at various levels are required. Care coordination with other disciplines will be part of the responsibility. The role involves utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment. Assessments of relevant data pertinent to patient health or situations will be conducted. The nurse will analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues. A plan prescribing interventions to attain positive outcomes will be developed. Implementation of care plans and coordination of care delivery is essential. Strategies to promote health and a safe environment will be employed. Progress toward attaining outcomes will be evaluated regularly. Outcomes for patients and their situations will be identified. Collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare providers is crucial in providing safecare. Learning opportunities for patients, families, and team members will be provided. Direct health information for patients and families will be communicated. Participation in discharge planning will ensure continuity of care. Appropriate delegation and coordination of duties among healthcare team members will be performed. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.
