Job Title: CVICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Critical Care Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years preferred; will accept first-time travelers with strong skill/experience in CVICU, including IABP and Impella experience. License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIH; CCRN preferred Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Description: CICU/CVICU RN position available for night shifts. The role requires experience in managing cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, and cardiac arrhythmias. Candidates will provide care for adult and geriatric patients. Nurses will be responsible for bedside procedures such as central line insertions, bronchoscopy, and chest tube insertion. Experience with mechanical support devices, including IABP and Impella, is essential. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:1 for high-acuity patients and up to 3 for stable, lower-acuity patients. Specialized equipment used includes Impella, VAD, IABP, CRRT, and ventilators. Nurses are expected to float within the specialty as needed. Weekend availability is required every other weekend, along with holiday coverage as scheduled. Interdisciplinary support is provided by Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services, among others. Candidates should have strong skills in managing complex cardiac cases and be comfortable with critical care environments.
