Job Title: Staff Nurse Specialty Care Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Six (6) months to three (3) years of Nursing (RN) experience License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Certification, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience with intensive cardiac patients - Strong communication skills - Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities - Organizational skills and time management Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. They focus on the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for the care of individuals and families. They are responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The job responsibilities include: - Assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. - Serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse as designated. - Educating patients and families in health promotion and disease management. - Administering medications safely according to policy. - Sharing responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. - Complying with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. - Actively participating in professional development and completing all mandatory training. - Integrating nursing research and current evidence into practice. - Providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. - Performing duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. - Participating in the Clinical Ladder Program as knowledge and expertise develop. - Performing other duties as assigned. Preferred experience includes previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Required education is graduation from an accredited school of Nursing. Preferred education is a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Certifications include relevant skills certification as required by unit assignments.
