Description:
The position is for a CVICU RN working night shifts.
The nurse will care for adult and geriatric patients in a cardiac intensive care setting.
The average daily census is 3-5 patients, and the bed capacity on the unit is 6.
The nurse will be responsible for managing patients post-op cardiac surgery, including CABG, MVR, and AVR.
Common patient diagnoses include STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, and structural heart conditions.
Nurses may need to float to other units as required.
The RN will actively manage patients with hemodynamic instability and coagulopathy.
In addition, they will manage patients on mechanical support devices such as ECMO and IABP.
Weekend coverage is required every third weekend and holiday shifts are to be scheduled as needed.
On-call duties of 24-32 hours per 8-week rotation are also part of the job.
Candidates should be skilled in various clinical procedures and patient management protocols relevant to cardiac care.
