Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty. License: Required nursing license Certifications: BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: - CVICU experience required - Knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required - Basic Arrhythmia experience required - Must pass Telemetry test prior to start Description: This position involves working 12-hour shifts during the day and night. Every other weekend and some holidays are required. There is no on-call duty. Experience and knowledge in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area is preferred. The facility has a daily census of 26 patients with a variety of diagnoses. The team consists of Care Team Leaders, nurse specialists, and RNs providing direct patient care. Nurses typically will care for 1-2 patients per assignment, possibly 3 if acuity is low. Staff assignments may change often throughout shifts due to patient admissions and transfers. Specialized equipment includes CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO. Care provided includes post-operative management for heart and lung surgeries. Nurses are expected to demonstrate technological expertise and a commitment to meeting patient and family needs. Floating to other units may be required as needed. This position requires a strong ability to work as part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary team. The unit supports multiple medical specialties and complex procedures. Staffing includes various support services to ensure comprehensive patient care. There are standard practices in place to manage patient safety and optimize care delivery. All qualifications and certifications must be met prior to the start of the assignment.
