Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a cardiovascular intensive care unit. Experience with the NextStage Continuous Venous-Venous Hemofiltration (CVVH) machine. Experience in cardiothoracic surgery and/or acuity adaptable areas preferred. License: Wisconsin Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required. AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required. Basic Arrhythmia experience required. Must-Have: Traveler must pass a telemetry test prior to starting. Description: This position requires 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Every other weekend and some holidays will be required. No call is expected for this role. Candidates must have experience in a cardiovascular intensive care unit. Knowledge and experience with the NextStage Continuous Venous-Venous Hemofiltration machine are required. The nursing role includes caring for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplants, and those with cardiac medical conditions. Team members provide care for a variety of patient diagnoses, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair/replacement, and heart failure. Nursing assignments typically involve direct patient care. Staff may be assigned to care for one to two patients, with a maximum of three patients if unit acuity is low. Interdisciplinary support is available from various specialized teams. Continuous collaboration with charge nurses and rapid response personnel is part of the daily routine. Nurses will utilize a range of advanced medical equipment and technology to provide high-quality care. The unit supports understanding and managing complex health conditions with a commitment to patient and family needs. Candidates should be well-versed in critical care practices and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning. This dynamic role requires effective communication and teamwork to navigate the complexities of patient care. Candidates will be expected to participate in ongoing competency assessments and training related to telemetry.
