Job Title: CVICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Minimum 1 year of experience with this patient population Description: Crisis protocol interview with facility manager required. Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any affiliated facilities. Driver's license is required for verification purposes. Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove artificial nails may result in termination of contract. RNs must pass a skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% to avoid termination. Unit staffed for open heart, complex thoracic, and vascular patients recovering in the ICU. Patients are stabilized and supported by various advanced equipment and therapies. Common diagnoses include patients recovering from cardiac surgeries and related procedures. RNs are required to titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, and sedation. Charge nurse is present on each shift and will take an assignment. No CNAs are available on this unit. Hospitalist and intensivist will be in-house 24/7. RNs must troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment and interpret telemetry strips. RNs will float to all inpatient units except maternity and NICU. Scrub color is navy blue. All RNs must provide upfront requests for time off and are limited to seven or fewer days per contract. Cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled per 13-week assignment. Charting system utilized is EPIC.
