Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day and Night Shifts Available Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 1 Year Experience Required License: Valid Nursing License Required Certifications: ACLS BLS Must-Have: Previous CVICU/CSICU Experience at Level 1 Facility EPIC Charting Experience Description: The position is for a cardiac surgery intensive care unit. Nursing assignments will include caring for patients with various cardiac conditions. Conditions include CABGs, valve repair/replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, total artificial hearts, and heart/liver/kidney transplants. Candidates should have experience in invasive hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive IV medications. Post-operative recovery care and critical care experience are essential. Skills required include CRRT, ECMO, and IABP. Candidates should have experience recovering post-op cardiothoracic surgery patients. Candidates with Level I trauma experience and strong skills in critical care are encouraged to apply. The unit provides oversight for circulatory assist devices including LVADs and ECMO. Interdisciplinary support services are available, including IV teams, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The facility has a patient census of 13 and consists of 14 beds. Candidates may be required to float within the scope of their practice if necessary. BSN is preferred but not required. Candidates should be prepared for a background check and must have no prior association with the facility for one year if previously employed there.
