Candidates should thrive in a very fast-paced, high-acuity critical care department. This role involves providing care to critically ill patients. The department frequently receives patients needing specialized care. Typical patient diagnoses include cardiothoracic surgery and neuro/neurosurgery. The team has also provided ICU-level care for patients suffering from COVID-19. Responsibilities include monitoring patients requiring advanced interventions, including ECMO. The unit has a capacity of 15 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2. The patient population includes adolescents through late adults. Direct patient care staff includes registered nurses and patient care technicians. Candidates must have appropriate certifications and clinical experience.
