The position requires a minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience. Candidates must have experience with activated clotting time, and managing direct fresh open-heart admissions from the operating room. Skills in pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) are essential. The staff-to-patient ratio on the unit is typically 1:2. Flexibility to work during weekdays and weekends is important. This role involves caring for cardiothoracic surgery patients and complicated cardiac cases. Candidates will be responsible for various critical nursing tasks including arterial line management, blood product administration, and ventilator management.
